About the Event
This year, our BBI research team will be focusing on the topic of diplomacy and international cooperation. We are, thus, very excited to welcome you to a discussion on this topic we are hosting on November 18! Our two panellists will take a deeper look at international cooperation as a discipline, examine its future trajectories, and finally give us an insider look at the role of the UN.
Our first speaker, Dr Tom Pegram, is an Associate Professor in Global Governance at UCL. Dr Pegram will give us an overview of diplomacy as a research field, discuss the major theories related to international cooperation, and outline what current trends we should keep an eye on.
Our second speaker, Jood Alharthi, is an Associate Peacebuilding Officer at United Nations HQ. Ms Alharthi will discuss the role of the UN in promoting friendly international relations, fostering cooperation in the international community, as well as give us a quick overview of the main strategic objectives the UN has for the upcoming decade.
The event is FREE to attend for all of our remote and paying members! We kindly ask you to mark yourself as "going" on FB so that our team can track the attendance!
